Help Wanted: Apprentice Canine Handler for Team K9

Team K9, a leading provider of professional canine services, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate individual to join our team as an Apprentice Canine Handler. Responsibilities:

1. Assist experienced handlers with daily canine care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
2. Learn and practice basic dog handling techniques, including leash handling, obedience training, and behavior management.
3. Assist with daily training and conditioning of our canine team members for various tasks, including detection, tracking, and protection work.
4. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment for both canines and human team members.
5. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in canine handling and training.
6. Attend and support Team K9 at local events and competitions as needed.
7. Assist in administrative tasks, such as record keeping, scheduling, and inventory management.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience working with animals, preferably dogs, is a plus but not required.
3. A strong passion for and commitment to the welfare and proper care of canines.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to follow instructions and work well under supervision.
6. Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs, as well as work outdoors in various weather conditions.
7. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
8. Availability to work weekends and occasional evenings as needed.
9. Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
